Our K15t Hiking Fun Trip 2022 - Companionship and Lofty Heights
For quite some time now, there has been an annual tradition at K15t: as soon as the leaves turn into a beautiful color for fall, we set out on a hiking adventure. This time we chose a destination in lofty heights together with our friends from Scandio.
The Journey Is the Destination - Located at Dizzy Heights
We started on a beautiful sunny Autumn Friday, and drove to Albstadt from our office in Stuttgart. Albstadt is a small town in the south of Baden-Württemberg on the Swabian Alb, about 85 km south of Stuttgart, and about 60 km north of Lake Constance.
Surrounded by mountains, vineyards, and forests, it is the perfect place to unwind in nature. While we were already making plans for the next day, we ended the arrival day with a very delicious Swabian meal. Many of the team then headed off for a long night of partying, while others went to bed early to be prepared for our upcoming adventures!

Saturday morning had arrived! The day finally came and we were ready to go. After a healthy and very tasty breakfast, we divided into two groups. Firstly, one part of the group wanted to go to a nearby climbing park to prove their head for heights. The other group went directly to our final destination: the Gasthof Fohlenweide - but more about that later.
The climbing crew first received a detailed safety briefing for the necessary climbing equipment on site. Equipped with helmets, harnesses and carabiners (and, of course, the relevant knowledge), they went on to select the climbing courses. There were various levels of difficulty that differed in the required strength, agility and, of course, the height difference. After everyone had made a decision, it was finally time to climb. Up, up, up we went. Very quickly we found out that it was not just about mastering great heights, but above all about dexterity, balance, and physical strength. When we were back on the ground, we all agreed that it was more challenging than we thought. But it was also a heck of a lot of fun.
The other group took a more relaxed approach and headed straight for the Gasthof Fohlenweide. This has become legendary among us colleagues, because there you get homemade Spezi, freshly tapped, known as “the best Spezi in the world.” Then, while wandering over sunny meadows and through rich autumn foliage, we met quite a few animal companions. Friendly cows, cuddly cats and grunting wild boars sweetened our trip. When we arrived at our destination, the first thing we did was of course to order a round of Spezi for everyone!

In the evening, we all met again for dinner at the Italian restaurant around the corner. The most wild stories were told and our unique adventures were discussed over and over again. In the end, we all agreed; We'll be back next year!
