K15t Company Outing 2018: Off to the Black Forest
The Company Outing is an annual K15t Software tradition, where the whole team is treated to a weekend trip to bond with colleagues and replace work-mode with outdoor adventures. This year, we headed to the Black Forest for a series of exciting activities.
First up, we stopped for a picnic-style breakfast along the Neckar in Bieringen. Some of us played an early-morning round of frisbee, while others enjoyed the playground.
After breakfast, we made our way to Gutach in the Black Forest. Apart from the beautiful mountain landscape, Gutach's main attraction is the summer toboggan run, or 'Sommerrodelbahn' as we call it in German. Everyone on the team put their sledding skills to the test and sped down the run as fast (or slow – we don't judge) as they could. We got a tiny bit competitive when comparing our speed records, but that's to be expected
We enjoyed some time in the sun, had a cold beer or two, and then drove to our accommodation in Zuflucht where we had a delicious dinner and spent the evening relaxing.
But of course, the trip didn't end there. The next morning, we started the day with a 10k hike through the mountains. When in the Black Forest, you really can't miss going on a hike, right? The route lasted about three hours, and the views over the Black Forest along the way were breathtaking.
Afterwards, we made our way to the final stop of the trip, Seewald. We ate lunch overlooking the Nagoldtalsperre, and some even went for a swim in the cool water.
We had the best time in the Black Forest and we're already looking forward to the next Company Outing. Next year is K15t's 10th birthday, so who knows what we might get up to!
